For the most part, I agree with everything in that response. The problem I have is that while whether on paper or in action quickscoping has changed and should be easier, those that try to be full-time quick scopers tend to fail miserably. You're right - roughly 5% of deaths are via QSers. Combined with that reality is the reality that every other playstyle has been jacked with to make it harder to compete against QSers. Only in BO1 did the sniper rifles themselves get adjustments that actually made QSing more difficult. But there were probably more QSing there than there was in MW3 so how successful was the effort? Not very and I think if you look at the paper, you'll see - QSers tend to stay in one area and they don't consider that camping (even though it is) and they benefit from the equipment that allows them to be warned when they are being flanked.
Since then the equipment has done that in every COD. Since then SRs have become easier and easier to use on their own. Since then perks have been added and split up to better fine tune the ability to QS.
There's two other things to consider. It seems to me that the community goes through waves of favorite weapons. I have nothing to support this other than a general feeling based on what I see in-game. For a month or two I might come across more SG users than "normal," the next month it might be SRs. If that is the case, then what we are seeing is the progression of challenges amongst the overall community. In other words, it is a temporary fad.
As a whole, I think we've been seeing a slow decline in the actual % of players that try to QS. Yes, you might see an increase in one game over the previous, but if we graphed it, I think the trend is downward. If that's the case, the definitely QSing is a fad and we all know what happens to fads. I tend to think this is the actual case because, frankly, YouTube has established stars from COD with established fan bases. Breaking into YouTube via COD is no longer "easy" to do. As a result, interest is beginning to wane. Which would also give ATVI motivation to make QSing easier. The YouTube craze was a large factor in COD popularity, IMO. If people don't think they can be super-snipers worthy of a YouTube channel, then game popularity also fades. See the connection?
This is a tangent but I'll say it anyway. I think it was a huge mistake to get rid of Theater. I understand the new consoles have built in theater, but there's still a huge prevgen console user base out there. Too early to axe it. It was a huge help toward capturing those incredible matches where players had intense exchanges. There can be excellent montages out there without having to rely upon sniper rifles and other popular weapons. But this is a digression.

Xbox historically has been more popular in North America while Playstation is more popular in the rest of the world. It does seem that in US and Canada, people seem to have a slight preference to the Xbox.

Maybe it was implemented correctly for once without any flaws like glitches, then players might play it more. The fact is that players don't like getting cheated by a flawed system. It would be easy as hell to implement because the game isn't looking for similar skilled players like it LP but is more like it is now but with a sugar coating of rank on top. I think that this one "stat" would take the emphasis away form K/D and other stats. You could really determine who the better players are based off of their rank.

Hello everyone,
Quick question that I'm hoping that either the mods or fellow members can help shed some light on. I called customer support to help with my issue on 6/04/14 and I was told that the issue would be relayed to the appropriate party and that I would be contacted very soon, it is now 6/12/14 and I have yet to hear anything. I have noticed that my case status has went from "escalated" to "on hold" during this time period so it would appear that something is being done. Maybe they're working on a group fix for this and that is why it is on hold, idk? I know that Activision is very busy I'm sure, and I do not expect this to happen in an instant. That being said what does a case being "on hold" entail and should I give them a call and ask for a status update?
Any relative insight would be appreciated.

Re: Thermal scope attachment gone since patch?
Did a NF and MD run yesterday with some forum friends and we did let each other know what attachments we found, if we didn't want them and no one mentioned thermal, hope you have better luck and find out one way or another if it does look like they've been removed or not.

I have the same problem: I bought the season pass and I could just download the included content (background, patch, ripper and a camouflage) but then I could not download any map pack
If I go on the PS store the map packs are not available for purchase due to content filter that is very strange, as my account hasn't any filter and i can access any level of content
Any help?

Like I said earlier, though... Different departments handle different aspects. I am sure the bare bones of the map are worked out and details roughed in. When it gets into the hands of the artists to fully detail the map, they probably go to town and take a lot of time and pride in what they do.

See, everyone said the MP40 was the bomb in WaW ... but I did a lot better with the Thompson. I remember the M16 issue with MW3, as well, and, at the time, I was shocked everyone was complaining about it because I happened to be leveling that gun up at the time. Stock, yeah, it was just another crap gun. But with Rapid Fire and a Red Dot, I had more headshots with that AR than any other AR and a great kdr with it. It was a great midrange to long range AR that worked well on the more open, larger maps.
To me that's the beauty of a game. You not only have to find its sweet spot, you have to find the sweet spot to use it.
I haven't used the MSBS that I can recall, but you said "some of the tweaks at one point made the MSBS like an airsoft gun.." That's my point. Had it been left alone, would it have had a drop in performance? Some guns aren't worth a flip outside of a single room. In those situations, I run Overkill so that I've got a gun that is effective outside of those situations. To me it seems that makes the brain do more work and I like that. I have to be alert to a lot of things going on.
A gun that is effective in every environment, IMO, makes the game not worth playing. I can get that level of a mental work out playing tic tac toe with my pet bird.

Here's where I sit on these topics. I totally agree about how the game plays. My son, who is 20, absolutely hates this game. I on the other hand think it is one of the better COD games. I've been told I am a minority on this.
I can't agree with you more on the game modes. Personally I wish they would get Mercenary back in the mix, but that's another topic that has been hashed before.
I'm 50/50 on the whole perk thing. I like the fact that they broke them up more to be more precise in what you want, however, I think they broke them up a little to much. Lol. I haven't really had any perks deemed as must haves though. I tend to use similar ones on my soldiers but I have tried to mix them up between my soldiers.
The IED's? Hmpfh. That's about all I can say about em. Don't hate em, don't really care if they were in the game or not, don't use em. Lol.
I'm not really sure I agree with you on the M-27. I have used all the light machine guns and yes it is the most powerful gun of them. I stated in an earlier thread that the M-27 reminds me of a heavy assault rifle. It may be a little OP but it doesn't bother me. I honestly don't really have a hard time dealing with an enemy who is using it. Sure added with a thermal scope it is a little bit campy. It's still not nearly as bad as the whole L-SAT, target finder, silencer thing in BLOPS2. I still believe the most overpowered weapon in all the COD's was the MP-40 from WAW. That weapon was the true game changer.
Honestly the only complaint I really have with this game is not having mercenary mode since there are plenty of individuals who play this game and don't want to always be in lobbies full of clans.

If i compare each game in their prime, MW3 would take the number one spot for the shittiest connection in the series for me. That game was horrible most of the time, especially if i was hosting (which unfortunately was most of the time). If i go back to them now after all the patching is done and the player bases have diminished, Black Ops 1 would probably take first place.

There is a turning point on the situation at the time, some things have to be consider whether it's you that does the revive or needs the revive. I've been in both situations (like many) If it can't be helped.....it will be hard but you can learn from these situations,
