why wont BO3 connect to online servers
call of duty black ops 3 does not connect to online servers, error code ABCD..., have version 59.0.0.0.0, as of 3/25-2016, and game was playing good that morning, have restarted pc and router and still nothing, have gone to start of game and waited for version to update and it does not go online, have updated steam and still not going online, have uninstalled game and reinstalled and still not going online, could I please get some help for this issue, at wits end, turned kaspersky off and it still is not working, e-mail. thanks Dave

Prepare to be pissed unfortunately. You have to get the combat knife gold, then if you get dark matter and want the butterfly dm as well you'll have to get that gold as well. Working on it myself. Good luck.

First off let me say thank you for actually bringing this game on old-gen despite its many lacking features, including campaign.
Here's what I wanted to say. I am a trophy collector and I know many, in fact most people couldn't care less about trophies; they practically don't exist. Now I obviously want to get the platinum for this game but I can't stand how unreasonable the requirements for some of them are. I find it very dumb that it probably takes a couple of minutes to code in a trophy for when it unlocks and how the player needs to play the game rigorously for tens or even hundreds of hours. And I don't think the lack of a campaign makes up for sticking in trophies such as: complete all Game Mode challenges (which if I'm correct, adds up to 550 wins altogether), complete all Specialist Weapon challenges (this one isn't too bad, just 100 kills with each specialist; more than doable), and the worst of all, complete all Career challenges (which is very, very ridiculous if your familiar with what the requirements are). I think we can all agree that not much thought actually went into these trophies. The PS4/ONE verison trophies are much more realistic and doable in a not-so-long amount of time. What makes it all worse is how the game on PS3/360 doesn't run to smooth and how it has frame rate drops very often. So trophy/achievement collectors on PS3/360 are getting very screwed over with these too ridiculous trophies.Now there are ways to fix this. One way is to slash all these trophies to complete 50% of all these such and such requirements. Or simply fully remove all those ridiculous trophies and stick in more realistic and doable trophies. Now obviously don't make them too easy because if you do that, it will kind of devalue the platinum as a whole. Thanks for reading.

There is certainly nothing wrong with enjoying a weapon for what it is. I was just pointing out it's really not a competative weapon with what is already available. It's certainly usable, but nothing overly special. I am just surprised how much people are hyped for this gun.

RSA Interdiction:
I just pulled this out of a common supply drop about 2 hours ago. I bought 3 rare with a days worth of crypto keys and had 14 left over after I cashed everything in. Now, I am not a sniper and I really hate the bolt actions in this game with the lack of auto aim. However, I took this silly thing out and I did surprisingly well with it. It's much less lethal than the Locus or SVG, but the little bit of auto aim the gun actually has seems to help a lot more than I expected. I was wondering if anyone in the sniping community who has this weapon could suggest a class and maybe some pointers on using it. I am actually really enjoying this weapon, but I have no idea what works best with it. Assume my quickscoping skills don't exist and I just want to use it as a mid to long range rifle for traditional hardscoping.

Weird Weapons and Winning Tactics: The HG 40:
Well, we got the new supply drops weapons and this one seems to be the popular thing to chase after. Apparently it's a remade version of the WAW MP40 and I will give it the feel and look of the weapon are pretty spot on. It is heads above it's peers in the damage department, but it has some serious drawbacks. A good friend of mine got it in a supply drop a few days ago and invited me over to take it for a test drive. This topic is a review of the weapon and a recommended build. The HG40 is a novelty weapon. It's a fun throw back with an interesting feel to it. But at the end of the day it's outclassed by a lot of the core guns, which is intentional to keep it from being a pay to win weapon.
The HG40 has the best damage in the SMG catagory. It's a 3 shot kill out to 9 meters and a 4 shot out to 32 meters. After that it's alway 5 shots to kill. It has the standard SMG handling as well in terms of ADS, movement speed, hipfire. The weapon has a 30 round magazine and reloads just under two seconds making it one of the faster guns to resupply in the SMG catagory. The gun also has nice and clear iron sights meaning a optic isn't needed for the ranges that it's effective at. Overall, it's a powerful weapon with some nice traits. However, there are some major drawbacks to this weapon.
The HG40 has the highest recoil of any automatic weapon in the game. Take the recoil of the vesper and add about 10% and you are in the neighborhood. Now the recoil doesn't seem to be at that level because the fire rate on this weapon is also in the toilet. The gun fires at 515 RPM, which is the same as the Man of War and BRM LMG. This means the weapon fires slower than all of the other SMGs and all the ARs except the Sheeva and MX Garand. Even with the higher damage, this high recoil and slow fire rate give it a slower time to kill than most of the other weapons in the game.
The weapon is still a viable option and it has an interesting feel to it. If you want to compete with the HG40, you need to play to the weapon's strenths and you need to know what you are doing. I got about 3 hours with the weapon and the build below is the most optimal approach to the weapon. The HG40 combines high damage and high mobility into a single package and you need to capatalize on both in order to compete.
The Build:
Primary Weapon: HG 40
Attachments: Foregrip, Stock, Long Barrel, FMJ
Secondary Weapon: LCAR9
Perk2: Scavenger
Tactical Grenade: Concussion x 1
If you are familiar with this series on the forum, you know I don't normally load up on attachments. However, the HG40 works best with a lot of stuff stuck to it. This weapon's only real attribute over the other SMGs is it's damage and range. With the low fire rate there is a significant difference between a 4 and 5 shot kill. Long barrel extends your 4 shot kill range out to 39 meters which, is the 95% of any engagment you will have with this weapon. Likewise, at middle range many players take cover behind objects on the map. The HG40's damage is high enough when paired with FMJ to maintain your shots to kill through thin to medium cover. In order to compete with this weapon you cannot afford to miss too many shots and unfortuneatly the recoil is bad.
The foregrip cuts it back to a controllable level and the stock let's you adjust your aim with the left stick by strafing while you fire. The slow fire rate on the HG40 means it's not a good weapon for hipfire and we don't have any reaction perks on this class. With this build, you have to rely on the stocks mobility to compete, it allows you to move at 104% while aiming. While you are traversing the map, you need to keep your sights up and preaim everywhere. Let me spell this out. IF YOU ARE NOT RELOADING OR THROWING A GRENADE THEN YOU NEED TO BE ADS AT ALL TIMES!!!!! If you press the sprint button you are playing the build wrong. Preaiming let's you take advantage of your strafe mobility and means you won't have to endure a sprint out or ADS delay before you can fire. This will give you the first shots on target and gives you a time to kill advantage.
The rest of the build is pretty simple. A stun grenade is good for checking rooms before you enter. While the reload is relatively quick, we are running an unsilenced weapon with a 30 round magazine and bad recoil. Sooner or later you are going to get caught with an empty magazine and the LCAR is there to give you a fall back option. With 70%of your class invested in the gun, running out of ammo would be pretty stupid. So, scavenger keeps your reserve full and restocks your concussion grenades as necesesary.
I know I have been a little bit of a broken record with this topic. But if you are going to use this build, then you need to play it correctly. Otherwise, there are better weapons in most situation and you are going to get out classed a lot. The HG40 is more of a nastalgia and novelty weapon than a compeative SMG. But the above build can leverage it's strengths and combat it's weaknesses. It gives you the damage of the KN44 with the mobility of an SMG. This can be a potent combiation, but not the right build for everyone.
