Unless you actually know the person I think people should not throw down the condescending "this generation" insult.  I'm a 50 year old woman and I feel the same exact way as the OP.  I've worked since the age of 16, without ever not having a job... there is absolutely ZERO sense of entitlement in my body.

 

With that being said, I wouldn't go play a game of basketball against Michael Jorden or a game of football against Joe Montana.... there is nothing whatsoever even close to "entitlement" in wanting to play with people of your same skill level and move  up as you improve.

 

I don't know why some of you can't understand this.  If anything the entitlement attitude around here is from people who feel  since they had to suffer through being stomped they are now entitled to have noobs they can easily stomp.  

 

Technology makes advances every year..... I hope one day they come up with a way to make the game a little more fair to new people.

Do you realize that there are so many things wrong with these statements.. "SBMM is not the answer. Can't improve playing against lesser competition. Iron sharpens iron... AND Practice against the Bots in Custom Games when you can. It really does help." First, "can't improve playing against lesser competition" and "Practice against Bots" are contradictory statements. Also, Cod has very little skill-gap, I know most 'good' Cod players think that it does, but in all honesty Cod skill-gap comes down to the same level of awareness needed to be good at any MP fps, combined with the same controller/KB&Mouse ability (hand-eye coordination) needed to play any MP fps. And when you look soley at this game (BO3) even goes further down the skill-gap ladder with tons of noob-friendly features put in the game by the developers. Moving on to "Can't improve playing against lesser competition"..? Of course you can.. Controller skill can be improved by playing in a match with NO opponents at all, and awareness can be improved playing against recruit bots. Also, count in the fact that there are tons of players that couldn't care less about getting better.. Most of the players that play Cod just want to run around and shoot people for fun and wouldn't put an ounce of effort into practicing anything. And there is nothing wrong with them wanting to have a 'casual' experience just like the better players that hate SBMM because it 'takes away the casual experience' for them. So either SBMM or some sort of online mode for weaker players should be in the game just to be fair to everyone that purchased the game.

For some reason I can't edit so I'll add this here.  I'm not saying this ^^^ is YOU, not at all.... I'm saying I've specifically seen threads here on this very site saying exactly that.  They have played for years and deserve easy pup stomp games.

Let's go ahead and first try to clear the PS4 game cache, turn off the PS4 and unplug it for 5 min, and then try playing on. I'm speaking more about the ever-changing gaming/FPS/CoD community, not in general, over a much shorter timeframe than would be considered a "generation" in the normal sense lol

 

I wonder how most of the people who feel this way would have coped in the older and most popular FPS games of the past twenty years where it was all about how much you put into improving...

Sorry to hear you are having issues with linking your account. What exactly happens when you try to link your Xbox One account? I don't see any information related to that, or anything else, tied to your profile here. Have you tried logging into your Xbox account on your browser and then tried to link the account through your Activision profile? Also, have you tried different browsers to see if you are running into the same issue on all of them? Thanks, let me know.

You are very wrong about the Brecci losing straight up. In fact, the Brecci could take out multiple players easily when grouped in a close proximity with little to no effort such as enemies capturing a flag in DOM. With a SMG you would have to kill one, re-aim, than the other, you miss even a little with the SMG, your dead since almost everyone is using one. You put long barrel on it the Brecci really becomes ridiculous. Add the movement techniques to it you can get rapid quad feeds fairly easily in those modes. Since the maps are pretty small in this COD for the most part, the ease of closing distances with the new movement system, is very easy, on some maps, too easy.

 

Of course there is a distance where the SMG (and other guns) would have an advantage from distance but most of the game play I have seen and experienced, everyone is rushing spawns, even in games like DOM vs playing the objectives, that distance is more rare and I don't consider CQB. I not sure why a person running a shotgun would expect that to be a fair fight. Pretty much, CQB, the shotgun wins with little to no effort, everytime. That makes it OP to me.

 

As far as excelling, I could raise my stats easily by using the Brecci on most maps. I should probably do this since after going for Camo's my KD went to crap. Some maps this won't work well like Redwood in Domination unless the other team ignores one of the lanes. Maps like Fringe, Nuketown, Combine, Rise, Evac, Exodus, Hunted, Stronghold, Aquarium, Guantlet, Skyjacked, Breach... very easy to close distances.

The problem with that statement is it appears to insinuate people who share my opinion have no desire to put in effort to improve.  I play nearly every day, I play public matches and I play bots to learn the maps and try out different guns & loadouts.  There was a time I wouldn't even set the bots to anything but recruit.... now I often play on veteran for the challenge.   I definitely put in the effort to improve... but getting STOMPED does not contribute to improvement for me personally.

 

The next argument I often see is "you learn from getting stomped".... Ummmm no, people can speak for themselves but everyone is different and some of us don't respond well to the "learning by being grinded into the ground".  Honestly... I fell like that argument is nothing more than a way to defend not trying to come up with  SBMM.   I truly feel a good majority of "good" players don't want to play people on their level... just my opinion
