Battlefield even has dedi browsers and middle easterns are allowed to just stroll on to EU servers to ruin it for everyone else, so don't think dedis are all that. They only work if there are enough of them per region.
Haha you obvs haven't seen my posts on dedis before or you know thats the opposite of what I mean.
Yeah OoR players can be on your dedis due to high ping allowances and poor MM/region locks - same as server browsers except the matter of what we can personally control (browser v matchmaking).
Now, if you have an 80ms ping allowance (meaning you are denied access to dedis >80ms) then literally everyone not living in that ms radius of our current dedi network will have to play on listen servers.
Listen servers have far less strict stipulations for access than dedis, dedis at determines your personal connection quality more thoroughly before access, listen not so much.
Dedis also don't have host advantage (or disadvantage for some apparently) but there should never be a dedi only COD network, need to have that failsafe with the hybrid setup.
What my point was is that a 80ms restriction on dedi access would literally block to a large portion of the playerbase from their improved network.
While dedis aren't a perfect they sure do beat listen only setups, which is what you are proposing for a large swathe of players.
That is a massive step backwards and would really get up many peoples noses - mine especially as I would then be forced to join a listen server even further away than the dedi in Aus (most people live on other side), meaning increased ping = worse play.
