No. Your thinking about it the wrong way
SBMM will only work with the player pool given to it by the Connection match making.
You have repeated this point over and over. I don't question the chronology of it. But MM is a holistic process, from the first variable (your "master" variable) to the last (possibly SBMM but we know it's in there somewhere.)
Now, as I have put forward the same example in another thread which you participated in. Suppose 1000 players are selected by CMM. After CMM, the MASTER variable, has done it's job, 2 of the 1000 players are matched in the same lobby because ofSBMM, whatever it's criteria. However, the 2 players, although in the same region (do you know the exact locations of a given regional area and where and how expansive they are?), are hundreds of miles of apart (not that implausible in rural or sparsely populated areas), are matched together.
No doubt, CMM has done it's job in selecting connection quality among these 1000 players. But are the 2 players in this example better off because SBMM put them in the same lobbby (again, just to emphasize that your point of CMM being "Master" is not forgotten) even though they are, although in the same region (which no one knows its area except for the devs), hundreds of miles apart?
Or, are they potentially better off, if SBMM is not a variable altogether, if they're matched with players closer within their location, as CMM is supposed to do in a "master" way?
I asked you this question in the other thread and you gave a cursory answer. I'd appreciate, since you seem to be a forum authority here, if you gave a more detailed explanation.
No animosity towards you. Just quite curious and have a "need to know."
