@Jad - Oh, nice! It would be pretty awesome to have a really nice sound system, especially for explosion heavy blockbusters. It would feel like your own little movie theater down there, minus the strangers loudly crunching on snacks, haha. Haha, have ya not gotten a couch or chairs for the basement yet? That would be a wee bit of a problem, at least for the adults. I doubt your kids would care much, haha. If you get a couch with a fold out bed it would be kid heaven down there. I remember my parents had a fold out couch in the living room and it was the greatest whenever I got to sleep downstairs cause of the novelty of it and turning out all the lights to watch the Alfred Hitchcock show on Nick@Night or play the SNES. Come to think of it, I really liked sleeping anywhere that wasn't my bed, haha. Do you still have a TV on the ground floor or did ya get rid of it since ya got the big one in the basement?
It's good then that only one of the broken figures was someone your kids really wanted. I would definitely recommend the Marvel figures! The Hawkeye figure looks really cool and he's a ton of fun to play as! Cap is awesome too, though I haven't play with him nearly as much as Clint for obvious reasons, haha. I can't speak for Hulk, but it's Hulk so you pretty much know what you're gonna get. I think everywhere has the figures on sale so ya shouldn't have any trouble finding em. I know some places had the Starlord & Gamora and the Spidey two packs on sale, but not sure if that's the case now. I've been so many good deals this year, it's been crazy. I just picked up LittleBigPlanet 3 on sale for 40 bucks and bought the Hawkeye sackboy skin on PSN, cause of course I did, haha. At this point I have enough games to probably last half the year and that aint even counting numerous Dragon Age playthroughs.
Are you guys locked into the playoffs yet? I imagine part of emphasizing the run is also to rest Manning's arm a little bit since you definitely want him to bring his A game to the playoffs. The AFC looks to be about the Broncos, Pats, and Indy this year. I haven't seen too many AFC games so not sure who's the popular pick, but I wouldn't be shocked if we have another Brady v Manning showdown for a spot in the Super Bowl. The NFC is a lot muddier, I think. Packers, Seahawks, Lions, Cards, maybe even Dallas could go on a run. Only way Eagles could get far is if Foles comes back and has another magical run like 2013.
Awesome! I meant to see that in theaters, but never got around to it. Most of what I've heard fits with your description. I might just wait for it to come out on blu ray. I will be going to see Hobbit on Friday though! Really looking forward to it.
It's cool to see Marvel commit to the Russos, but I don't know about kicking Whedon out of the director's chair before we've even seen AoU. Maybe Whedon doesn't want to come back or would prefer to be writer/consultant so he can work on other projects, but I hope Marvel clarifies why Whedon won't come back.
@Rogue - Haha, my Male Shep instantly destroyed. Not a chance in hell he woulda ever been comfortable keeping it around, especially cause like your femShep he really hated Illusive Man. My FemShep isn't quite as hasty and I considered what she'd do for a while since she's hesitant to destroy any knowledge and is a bit curious of what they could discover. In the end, she didn't think it was knowledge that they should have since they didn't earn it and didn't really trust the Alliance, the Council, or Cerberus to have it. In case it wasn't already clear, I play my maleShep like Clint and my femShep like Bobbi, haha. Interesting. There was two years between ME2 and ME3, which isn't a terrible amount of development time. They had delayed it a couple months too. But they did change the gameplay again and they added in some voice commands for the Kinect. Still, I'm not sure if an extra year would've solved all the problems. I remember hearing that Casey Malone wrote the ending by himself and none of the other writers had any input or got to peer review it. i think it mighta also been a last minute change when a bunch of info about the game got leaked. Oh well. At least lessons were learned so that DA3 got to be an awesome game.
Haha, I remember the rumors of the Aunt May solo movie floating around before so that didn't shocked me too much. Them acting oblivious to the quality of much of the Marvel Studios movies is just a head scratcher to me. I haven't seen any of the Sony comic book movies, but I did end up seeing Days of Future Past cause my buddy bought it and I really disliked it. I know you guys loved it, but I could barely get through it and I'm kinda dumbfounded why "Peter" was hailed as being done so well since he has nothing in common with Pietro aside from super speed. They didn't even give him the proper name. He was just a goofy American teen that happened to wear silver and could run fast. It's a stark contrast to what I keep hearing out of AoU and from Aaron Taylor-Johnson with the description of Pietro as being eastern-euorpean, a romani, kinda haughty though super protective and caring toward Wanda. It seems like AoU is tackling what I consider the most important parts of Pietro's character whereas the Fox version worked with a really vague template (Quicksilver, moves fast, Magneto's son). Not sure if that's the case of Sony, but I feel like Marvel Studios is usually good at getting to the heart of characters or stories so even when they change things, they keep what fans loved about em. When Marvel does make mistakes they try to rectify them I'm still not wild about Old Man Pym or Ultron being a Tony Stark creation, but I'm willing to give them a shot (and hope for young Hank and Jan adventures on Netflix, haha). Enough of my ranting though, my issues with DoFP go beyond just accuracy to the source and would span many paragraphs I'm sure, I've also wandered away from the point of Sony and Spidey, haha. So, are the Sony Spidey movies more about fighting villains than Peter struggling to be a student and a hero? I've only seen the ads which are a lot of action shots and occasionally Emma Stone. Do ya think they should go back to MJ or skip the romance all together?
