Unless they stole it or purchased it from someone who did... prosecute them for what? The retailer.... they can be fined depending on the purchase agreement.

Either way... it's not ATVI's fault. The company I work has to deal with this several times a year when we launch product and all you can do is mitigate it as much as possible.

Do you think it could work? Perhaps the developers can have a select few chosen to wield the banhammer upon other players based on specific actions, such as boosting and toxic emblems. Other things like offensive language and hacking has to be reviewed first by the company itself.
Of course, this idea demands a lot of responsibility from those select few. Those players cannot let others know they have a banhammer. they cannot send messages or chat about their banhammering abilities, and the bestowed bans must be 100% legit.

Here's my theory:
Advanced Warfare will use the same exact system from Ghosts ie Listen Servers and Dedicated Servers. In other words, the only lobbies that will receive the benefit of dedis are the ones that consist of players with bad internet. In other words, more food for the hungry, less food for the nourished.
If people really want to have dedicated servers pop up more often, then perhaps Sledgehammer should only allow dedicated servers for current gen platforms (X1, PS4, PC). Granted, the chances of getting into a dedi lobby is still small, but it's a lot higher compared to when 5 platforms had to share.
Despite my words of wisdom, I know that people will react with "GIVE ME 100% DEDICATED SERVERS. WAH WAH WAH!!"
...and this will be my response to those outbursts.

- HybridNerdzGaming is an active, competitive, organized, and fun gaming community. We were founded at the release of Call of Duty Ghosts by Hybrd Cobra and have now become a very tightly knit clan. We had an average K/D ratio of around 2.0 at all times during our Ghosts season.
- In Ghosts, we reached max level and earned full Body Count and War Cry Armor. We ranged between 15-80 members but have now narrowed down our roster to about 25 dedicated members and are looking to grow again with the launch of Advanced Warfare.

- We have multiple competitive teams who play MLG Gamebattles and UMG matches. In Ghosts our main team was ranked in the top 100 in the UMG team ladder out of over 6,000 teams. Our goal is to send a team to an MLG/UMG LAN event in the near future and we need just a few more competent players to make our goal a reality.
- We are looking for long term members only! Please only apply if you plan on sticking with us. We don't want clan hoppers. When you apply, you will need to be given a simple tryout. If you pass the tryout we will accept your application and you will officially be apart of HNG.
- We will be competing in Clan Wars, GameBattles & UMG, and League Play/Ranked Playlists in Advanced Warfare

1)Be an active player,meaning that youplay Call of Duty at least 4 days a week. You will be required to play in every clan war since we are aiming to be in the top 10 of all clans competing in clan wars.
2)Have over a 1.75 K/D ratio and over a1.5 W/L . Basically, you need to be able to carry your own weight. (NOTE:This requirement may change once AW releases but for now, a base K/D of 1.75 will be required to join HNG)
3) Be at least 17 years old (No exceptions)

- You must use the website at least a few times a week (preferably more) to be in our clan
