It's personal opinion, that's all it boils down to. The futuristic stuff is the trend direction things are taking, you can not like it - which is completely fine and understood - but don't fool yourself into believing some of the things you do about Ghosts. Ghosts is set after the world war presented in MW3, it's just more of a gritty future rather than a technological one that Black Ops 2 presented. Advanced Warfare is also following that technological one, that was Sledgehammer's decision and choice in setting. We're not at all sure where Treyarch will go next, but it's clear there will be a Ghosts 2 that continues the drab storyline it presents.
You enjoyed it, that's great, but don't get things twisted and don't feel offended when others do not feel your way. The numbers don't lie, and combined sales numbers for Ghosts (across all platforms that means) pits it among the lowest sold CoD titles in years. What does that mean? Not very many people were into it, which means whatever IW decided to do wasn't working. I wouldn't doubt if Ghosts 2 ups the tech level and makes things more "futuristic" in nature in 2016... simply because THAT sells now, and as in all things.. gaming is a business. If you aren't in it to sell, you're in it for the wrong reason.
I'd get used to it now instead of jading yourself and falling behind the bandwagon so far that you become a relic of the past.. yeah, older CoD titles were great.. they were more "relatable", which is why we recall them so well.. but that's not the direction things are going right now. These games are good in their own way, within their own trends, but we as older gamers aren't relating and aren't enjoying them so much because.. frankly.. that image above. That's what happens... lol
